projects

my current, or recently deceased music projects:

japhy riddle (in search of another name)

this is a solo project. when i had no band, i recorded these songs. a number of these are being played with my current band, azura (which, i think, also needs a new name). below are the tracks for the first record. you can download them all for free. yay! i'm in the process of making proper album art, as well as music videos for some of the tracks. clicking the track title will begin its mp3 download. enjoy.

goodnight caterpillar

this is my current hip hop project. i've been recording and performing hip hop music since 1999. i've gone through a few different names and finally arrived with one that i like: goodnight caterpillar. the first full length, "not yet ready to be a butterfly", has just been finished. for older hip hop (with samples), check out: the hip hop minstrel and goodnight minstrel. i plan to rerelease some of the old tracks with a bit of remastering under the current name. visit the website for samples of all the tracks.
birds have maps

started in 2003 under the name "birds have mass". since there is no website dedicated to this band, below are samples from the two official albums, both entitled "birds have maps". the band never officially called it quits, but the likelihood of any future release is highly improbable.

birds have maps

1. all you kings audio
2. your world, our screens audio
3. don't bite the laser beam audio
4. waiting there for you (prequel to ''your world, our screens'') audio
5. in the end
6. to this heart not yet yours
7. the foot prince audio
8. behind the sky

birds have maps

1. intimate dating is intimidating audio
2. apple song
3. have you ever been lonely?
4. there was no meeting of flesh audio
5. vampire state building
6. your function audio
7. little minnow
it's day - its day
it's day

an ironically dark feeling blend of high-pitched vocals over low-fi echoy loops. the lyrics were often science fiction themed. it's day was declared officially dead in 2008, but the records live on. visit the website to see and hear what it was all about.

but wait, there is so much (too much) more

those are just the most recent big musical projects i've been a part of. i've been recording music since the fourth grade. to browse through my musical history and give a listen to the past, click the link below.
